Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone vs iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max

There will be at least three versions of Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone. They will be aimed at competing with the three iPhone models: iPhone XR, iPhone XS, and iPhone XS Max.

The Galaxy S10 Plus with model number SM-G975x will compete against the iPhone XS Max. It will have many new features.

The mainstream version, the normal Galaxy S10, with model number SM-G973x will become a competitor to the iPhone XS model. Both models will receive at least 128 GB of flash memory. There will be versions with 256 GB and possibly 512 GB of flash memory, manufactured according to the UFS 3.0 standard.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 model with the number SM-G970x will compete against the iPhone XR. It will receive many of the features of the other two models. Its price will be about $750, while the Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10 Plus will be priced at $1,000 and $1,100 respectively.

Listed below are the main differences between the three models of the Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone:

The entry-level model of the Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone will have a 5.8-inch flat screen, a fingerprint sensor on the back side and a 4G modem.

The mainstream version of the Samsung Galaxy S10 smartphone features a screen diagonal of 5.8 inches, curved on the sides, an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor under the screen and a 5G modem.

The high-end Plus model of the Samsung Galaxy S10 will have a display with a diagonal of 6.4 inches, curved on the sides, with in-display ultrasonic fingerprint sensor and a 5G modem.

The ultrasonic fingerprint scans could be faster and more efficient than the current optical sensors that companies put underneath the smartphone displays.

The Samsung Galaxy S10+ is powered by the Exynos 9820 CPU which is the first Samsung SoC to include a dedicated AI processing core. The iPhone XS Max, powered by Apple’s A12, scores around 350,000 points in Antutu, while the Samsung’s Exynos 9820 CPU managed to score about 325,000 points. Galaxy S10+ demonstrates an improvement over 10nm processors and it is a lot better than Samsung’s last flagship chip, but it does not beat the A12 CPU.

The Samsung Galaxy S10 is expected to be announced at the MWC19 Exhibition in Barcelona at the end of February 2019 (25-28th February).
