INGREDIENTS
4 apples
⅓ cup honey
2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice
3 tablespoons unsalted butter
½ teaspoon kosher salt
INSTRUCTIONS
Preheat the oven to 425 °F (220 degrees °C). Remove the core from the apples and cut into 1-inch chunks, then toss them with some lemon juice. Heat a cast iron skillet on medium high heat with the butter in it. Wait for the butter to heat and brown, then add the apples and kosher salt. cook for 5 to 7 minutes until the edges start turning a rich brown color, or until tender, stirring frequently with a wooden spoon or heatproof spatula. Add the honey and put in the oven for about 10 minutes. The apples should be tender but not mushy and richly caramelized. Carefully serve with a spatula. Take care not to smash them while doing so.
